I Want A "SEARCH" Icon On My Desktop.is That Possible?
I have Windows Vista and have been pulling my hair out trying to find the mail icon in order to setup my Outlook. I know the normal Desktop icon list (Recycling Bin, Network, etc.) is available but IE is not listed. The problem of these icons being on the desktop is quite common. everything disappears with the exception of the screen saver. this content
I think the virus may have come in with the SP3 download, but no way to prove. icon and Microsoft Word icon have disappeared from my desktop following a "clean-up" of my computer's Software. Seems similar to what Carie mentioned in the comments above. thanks.

All I can figure out how to do is add the desktop to the start menu which shows me everything on my desktop in a list. In case the Start menu is to small to show all programs, the size of the shortcut icons can be adjusted in size by disabling the option Use large icons.
