When you encounter vent lag, I would use the Network Utility -> Ping tab and send 10 pings to the IP address of your vent server and see what the lag I work until 5 on most days so most of the high latency comes from 6pm-midnight from what I've noticed. I called the company and the guy came out and looked at it and said send and receiving levels were really bad. Play wow and use vent in game, wow has no ping issue at all Vent has serious ping issue but only in the evening.

In rush hours it is very hard to catch up with the port speed and bandwidth and some users might experience a slow Ventrilo. If I were to run a tracert to google.com during a latency spike, I'm sure it would show around 400ms. This refers to the effect of the issue on your ping. I get 6000 download and 3000 upload with 49ms using speedtest.net to a Dallas server. Other times maybe 1 hour in between.

I still have huge latency in my Ventrilo from 800-30k and its unusable but only on a evening! The time now is 04:56 AM. Best bet is to have your own dedicated broadband connection. If the delay is undesirable or unacceptable, then you can add this entry to the registry to disable nagling.

Any ideas?
