I Think I Have An Unlocked Barton.

Still 1.70v should be very safe while most are happy to go to 1.75v. Newegg UNLOCKED barton? This review is gonna be pretty bad. IMHO there's no need to do all 5 cuts for L6, I can't imagine a setup where you'd want to use a multiplier higher than 19X on these chips.

Since for SURE the multiplier is locked I will have to rely on O'Cing it through the BiOS. When I go into bios the option for changing multiplier is available. Did you follow the instructions on the Artic Silver website for applying the TIM? So I tested it. 2.6v good 2.7v good 2.8v Prime fails after 51minutes 2.9v Prime fails after 9 minutes 3.0v Prime fails 3.1 Prime fails after 9 minutes 3.2v Prime is

It's simple enough that I will probably mod the same my other CPU, an unlocked XP2500+. cut L8 for 1.5V according to the mobile chart (same as L11 for 1.6V), i.e. It did drop after a few min, down to like 42. If you don't expect to go over about 210-220mhz, stick with the PC3200LL and enjoy the Low Latencies.

  1. im new here at ocforums..
  2. just in case of course, not that it would matter if you intend to overclock it anyway...
  3. Mabey i got the temp sensor a bit too close, or a piece of lint got inbetween the sink and proc.

What's been called a Super unlock is not really an unlock: Basically, the method involves modding of the locked chips, remembering that MHz Speed = [FSB] x multiplier 'PowerNow' feature allows

The time now is 05:21 AM. If i kick all my case fans on full it will go down to 44 or so, but still. I just wanted to get memtest started for a few hours. the chips arent made any more (winbond bh-5).

So if you have motherboard/chipset/BIOS support for PowerNow which not all boards do, nForce2 does not, you can use this feature on locked desktop CPUs. with the link i provided will it possibly unlocked my barton cpu, otherwise how did you manage to do so with your cpu. they do not look like mine... Of course there are many mobos which get 'confused' if the CPU uses a default multiplier in the higher rnage (13x and higher) but it's stilla good way of testing.
