So I tried to use the recovery option from Win CD but for some reson the laptop wont boot from CD's. I have created a bootable CD from ISO (my HP laptop boots to the CD jsut fine), and I've changed the bios on the TP to boot to the CD first. Files have *not* been scanned for viruses. From there, you can disconnect the battery lead and pull it free.

Even if you got it to work, it has at best a 3xx mhz cpu, which is pitiful. The posting of advertisements, profanity, or personal attacks is prohibited. The motherboard is the base of the computer--you can think of the motherboard as the heart of the computer, as it distributes energy/power from the power adapter like how people need I'm loving that these Thinkpads are both durable and maintainable (even if they are totally slow now).
I'm back in business as well. I think I spent $3 for the battery on eBay, including postage. Moving to a different outlet didn't help. Is there anything else I can try to get it to boot to the CD and/or reinstall XP? The CR 3v type? They look to be in reasonable condition and displays seem to work, but they will not start up of get me into BIOS beyond setting date and time.
