I have a 95% success sollution in my organization. (We are running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise) I set up with grouppolicies for the mapsharing The nice thing about this is it does not go on until the file is written and if has to be connected to write it. I have tried accessing the NAS from my iPad using Synology DS File to make sure the NAS is awake, but that does not seem to make a difference.
