It started doing this about a week ago and I can't figure out how to make it stop. My predicament was solved by running Driver Booster 3, updating outdated drives and all was fixed. shutdown -s Reboot and see if the computer shuts down normally. After some time, the hard disk stops and only then I power off the switch in the wall. Turn off the computer ? why not try these out

Well you can put your SuSE dvd and do a automatic repair. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down.
